How do I get rid of the "stay at home mom" blues??

I have never been a "stay at home mom", I find it one of the most difficult task I have faced in a long time. I find myself loosing touch with the "outside world" and my old self. I feel frumpy and old beyond my years. I eat, shower, and brush my teeth but rarely get dressed, comb my hair or put on make-up, what for I am not leaving the house, plus with two kids...who has the time?

Make yourself leave the house once a day. Take the kids to the park, go walk the mall, or run errands. Getting out in public will make you feel more normal. Then toss the kids to the hubby or a babysitter at least once every two weeks and go do something just for you.

I've been through that as well and i do know how u feel... Please do make an effort to get dressed (if not u'll feel even worse) and try to make every day a bit special for yourself, do something u like, even for ten minutes...

Plus try and think some day you'll look back and smile at the memories of having your small kids all to yourself... Some day when u are back to work!!

And last thing is,... get enough rest! Life always looks bad when u r stressed out and exhausted.

I experienced this myself with the birth of my first child. I felt very out of touch with adults. I even came to a point where I couldn't even talk at an adult with any sense of normalcy. I only felt "normal" again after returning to work. Maybe you need to become employed part time, or try becoming involved in a parent tot program locally if your children are young. It will get you out of the house once or twice a week, and involved with other parents who are probably in the same boat.

you made your bed now lie in it.or maybe you should take your kids to the park or museum or zoo.or by a bike with a child trailer and get outside.get your husband or boy friend to take you all out.

How can you have the "blues" over staying home with your children? Seriously, count your blessings and move on. Your children need you to be your very best. Get out and get some fresh air and exercise each day. It works wonders!

go out for a walk, have dates with other friends that have children, go to a park or some child friendly place. where the kids can play and you can hang out with other adults if even for only a little bit.

I agree with the others to go out once a day...store, park, mall, library. Is there a gym you can join? Most even offer child care. Or the local Y.

The library usually has free story hours or classes. Or look into other moms groups or classes for the kids.

I find keeping a daily and weekly schedule helps, too.
