hi guys i am 13 years old. i go to 7th grade. i get straight a's. the problem is my parents never give me enough freedom. i cant comb my hair the way i want. i cant have a cell phone ( all my friends have one) either. my life is so boring if my parents control it all the time. help me somehow so i can live happy,( im in a state of depression).

be honest with them tell the how you feel.

my friend was like this. her parents were so gay. she started rebeling. and it made her parents feel so sad. she never would hug them anymore. and things like that. then they would start cutting back on the rules. and being nice cause the missed the old her.

im not saying go be bad. but maybe show them how you feel.

but they sound ridiculous.

speak to them about ur situation. ask them for a cell phone but say its for safety reasons not popularity. say u want more freedom ur a good child not a crazy teen. and u feel u need trust.

Just suck it up. One day you'll be bald and they'll be dead so it won't really matter. A cell phone is over rated.

Dude that's a tough one, i guess you'll have to talk to them and then if they don't understand be a little rebel! come on they should apreciate that you get good grades and all that.

Just don't get in trouble and they'll understand that even if you don't obey them that much anymore you're still a good kid.

p.s. that use to happen to me too, but i think they kinda loosened as i got older.

sit them down and tell them you are very depressed and then tell them what is making you that way. Ask to have 3 freedoms they wont let you do know. When they say no ask what they think will happen if you do them and then show them why that would not happen. If this doesnt work speak to a counselor or a teacher at your school who can maybe help with the situation. Understand that most parents fear bad influences that are around you and they are just trying to protect you.

i noe it sucked.. but believe me, they really loved u... u shud probably find some time and tell them.. if not, chill down, and do something that u like to do (hobbies)...

i hope it helps - i did have the same problem when i was really young... but it wud get better as u get older.. so now, just hope time flies... haha

At your age it does feel like your parents are controlling every aspect of your life when you are at the age where you are exploring your own identity and beginning to seek independence. Your parents are doing what they think is the right thing - please remember that as parents we do not have a guide book or manual or anything, we just have to make it up as we go along acting on our own judgment.

I know it seems a long way off, but it won't be long before you are free to do as you please. Believe me, time does pass quickly.

Try to think of the things your parents do let you do that some parents would not allow. I don't know everything about your life, but I know that your parents allow you to ask questions here on Yahoo Answers. Make the most of liberties such as this and appreciate them. Whatever you do, don't do anything that will make your parents take them away.

I can't persuade your parents to let you have a cell phone, but on the subject of your hair, have you tried combing it a different way and then asking their opinion? Try as many ways as you can and they might suprise you and say yes to one of them.
