It's the static electricity, same reason why when you rub a balloon over your head your hair sticks to it. Simple trick is to get some static guard for clothes. Spray your brushes and combs with it, let it dry and this will help with your static.
Why is it sometimes I comb my hair and it is staticky?
Its really dry- or the air around you. It needs moisture. (Sometimes I'll just run a shine serum through mine to tackle static, but if you are somewhere with no products, wet your hands and run them through, or use a tab bit of hand lotion). You can also hairspray the crap out of it.
